BrightHy Solutions has signed a €1.7 million (approximately USD 1.98 million) contract to deliver an electrolyser and associated hydrogen refuelling station for a customer located in southern Europe. According to the company, engineering and preparatory work for the system has already begun, while production of key components is now underway. BrightHy expects to complete delivery, installation and commissioning of the full system in 2026. The deal represents a meaningful step for the company as it strengthens its position within the hydrogen infrastructure market.

Boosting Hydrogen Infrastructure in Southern Europe

Although the value of the contract is modest compared with large-scale hydrogen developments, the project is regarded as an important advancement for the expansion of clean hydrogen infrastructure in southern Europe. By supplying both an electrolyser and a refuelling station, BrightHy aims to facilitate a localised hydrogen supply chain that can serve industrial customers or mobility applications. While the identity of the end-user has not been disclosed, the station is expected to support operations that require consistent access to green hydrogen.

The project highlights BrightHy’s shift towards delivering practical, on-the-ground hydrogen systems. Historically more focused on broader project development activities, the company is now transitioning towards the engineering, construction and deployment of modular hydrogen systems. This direction aligns with the company’s wider strategy, which includes a non-binding €30 million term sheet for medium-scale hydrogen projects and an agency agreement with a Chinese electrolyser manufacturer to promote systems in the Iberian Peninsula.

The structure of this contract suggests that BrightHy may be prioritising a modular approach to market expansion, emphasising incremental growth through deployable hydrogen units rather than waiting for large-scale megaprojects to break ground. If successful, the installation could provide a replicable model for similar deployments across European markets, particularly in regions aiming to build hydrogen availability ahead of rising demand. The company notes that commissioning of the project is expected next year, marking the beginning of a potential series of compact, scalable hydrogen installations that can contribute to regional decarbonisation efforts.
