The Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) represented India at the European Hydrogen Week 2025, held in Brussels from 29 September to 3 October, underscoring the country’s growing global influence in the green hydrogen sector. A delegation led by Shri Sanjay Sharma, Director (Solar), highlighted SECI’s expanding role in advancing the green hydrogen and green ammonia ecosystem under the National Green Hydrogen Mission.

At the event, SECI spotlighted one of its major recent achievements — the successful conclusion of its Green Ammonia Tenders in August 2025, which demonstrated globally competitive pricing. The outcome marks a pivotal milestone for India, strengthening its position as a credible and cost-effective participant in the international renewable fuels market.

SECI also took part in policy dialogues related to the European Union’s Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin (RFNBO) regulations. The organisation emphasised the importance of developing regulatory frameworks that are fair, harmonised, and adaptable, ensuring that global energy transitions remain inclusive and equitable, particularly for developing economies.

Through its participation, SECI reaffirmed India’s commitment to international collaboration in the development of affordable, sustainable, and high-quality green fuels. The engagement also reflected India’s readiness to contribute constructively to shaping global standards and cooperation mechanisms for clean energy production and trade.

As the implementing agency of India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission, SECI continues to play a central role in driving large-scale hydrogen and ammonia projects. Its efforts are helping to build a robust industrial base and create opportunities for cross-border partnerships that support India’s long-term decarbonisation goals.

The event in Brussels provided SECI with a platform to exchange insights with global hydrogen leaders, policymakers, and investors, while promoting India’s policy framework, technological progress, and investment potential in the green fuels space.

By positioning itself at the centre of international collaboration, SECI reinforced India’s ambition to emerge as a leading producer and exporter of green hydrogen, contributing meaningfully to the shared vision of a net-zero future.
